The Marsden Big Noise fills the town with fanfares, parade, cacophonies, dancing and grooves in a celebration of street bands. Our noon parade will feature three of the UK’s leading street bands, Orkestra del Sol, The Firm and Tongues of Fire, together with local school children, and a mad musical machine ending with a grand finale. Followed by an afternoon of our featured bands battling it out on the streets. Our celebration is built around participation and collaboration, inviting festival and local musicians, Marsden residents and festival audiences to join in. The featured bands combine influences as varied as Balkan, Bhangra, modern New Orleans grooves, English funeral hymns, Afrobeat and free jazz.
