Following a full weekend workshop on fundamentals of jazz performance practice, students from the five Musica Kirklees music centres will present what they have learned over the past two days.
The workshop will be led by Mark Armstrong, Musical Director of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and five young NYJO Ambassadors, exploring jazz feel, ensemble skills and improvisation. All young musicians will learn tunes by ear, explore harmonic possibilities and gain confidence improvising.
