Meet the Team

Barney Stevenson, Artistic Director

Barney became artistic director in 2013 and was chair of the trustees for five years prior to that. Barney’s enthusiasm for jazz stems from his early teens. He studied music at The University of Manchester and previously worked at the Department of Health. Barney lives in Marsden with his young family.

June Rock, Finance Manager

Keen to become involved in local village activities, June joined Marsden Jazz festival as a volunteer and Committee Member shortly after moving to Marsden in 1999. Since joining the small team of staff as festival administrator in 2007, her role has expanded to include that of Finance Manager, Office Manager and fundraising.

Charlotte Furness, Marketing Manager

Charlotte Furness works for Marsden Jazz Festival as a freelance marketing manager, three days a week. She offers help and support with all areas of marketing the festival including, maintaining the website, managing the social media accounts, liaising in all print advertising, and other areas.

Marsden Jazz Festival is supported by a team of 25 committee members who offer their expertise, guidance and knowledge in governance of the festival.

Volunteering at Marsden Jazz Festival

Marsden Jazz Festival is supported by a large team of volunteers who help with the preparation of the festival, as well as helping out over the festival weekend itself.
